Memories is an offline-first photo journaling app. We do not operate our own backend, and we do not use analytics or advertising SDKs.
Information the app uses
Photos Memories asks for access to your Apple Photos library so you can select photos, create memories, view thumbnails, inspect metadata, tag sources, and export .stories archives. The app may read photo dates, locations, filenames, camera metadata, thumbnails, and media data for photos you choose.
iCloud Photos If selected photos are stored in iCloud, Apple Photos may download them when you view, inspect, or export them.
Memories and notes Saved memories, narrative text, source labels, people tags, profile fields, imported archives, backups, and recent sharing shortcuts are stored locally on your device.
Sign in with Apple Sign in with Apple is optional. If used, Memories stores your Apple user identifier in the iOS Keychain and uses Apple-provided name or email only for local profile display.
Contacts When sharing a memory, you may choose a contact using Appleās system contact picker. Memories stores recent contact shortcuts locally on your device. You can clear these from Profile settings. Memories does not modify your Contacts app.
Exports and backups When you export a .stories file or backup, the file may include memory text, labels, metadata, thumbnails, and photo data when Apple Photos provides it. These files leave the app only when you choose to export or share them.
Data sharing Memories does not sell your data. Memories does not upload your memories to our own server. Data may leave your device only through Apple system services or when you choose to export or share files.
